Re-Organize your Closet!

NOTE: I am not a professional stylist or expert or something this is what works for me so I thought I'd share :) yeah....

Step 1: Go through Closet and Acc. and donate, trash, or sell any thing that doesn't fit, is broken beyond repair, you don't wear, you wear 3 times a week for the past 6 years or if it's just ugly. Get a stylish friend to help if needed.

Step 2: Search styles and find yours, if you don't know look at some stores or catalogs to see what you like and how the fashion world describes them (such as if you like flowy skirts and earthy tones that would be classified as boho)

Step 3: Divide your closet into groups and subgroups using the words you found in the last step such as "Artsy", "Edgy" "High-Fashion-esque" and sub categories like trends that fit into your personal style like "Western" with a subcat. or "Denim" or
"Fringe" All words should describe both you and your clothing. "Stylish" or "Pretty" or such words do not count. :)

Step 4: Edit Closet once more.

Step 5: If needed go shopping or at least try on things that you wouldn't think of before to see how it looks on you.

Step 6: If you want to tape key colors of the season, or outfit ideas. Also if you want you can make a mannequin me (See one of my previous articles at www.lifeisanart-janus.blogspot.com) or take pictures of what you wear to avoid double wearing too often.

Now go step into the world in your new fashionable shoes and matching outfit :)

A Twist on the Neutral.

The Neutral Eye is the one of the most versatile and wearable looks, here's how:

Varying Looks:

Daytime
Nightime
Shimmer

1. Daytime
~ Line thickly on the upper lid with an olive, brown, or charcoal eyeliner.
~ Take a Eyeshadow Brush and pat on a Brown or Gold Shadow on the lid
~ Curl Eyelashes
~ Mascara if wanted

2. Nighttime
~ Tan Shadow all over until the brow
~ Brown on the lid
~ Black Smudged in the crease
~ Thin line a brown liner all around the water line
~ Smudge some on the end
~ Wing Line on the lid
~ Curl Lashes
~ Mascara

3. Shimmer
~ Green Liner Thickly on Lid
~ Brown Powder on Lid above the line
~ Gold shadow on both parts and slightly on the lower lash line

Tips for Auditioning/Performing

This is for Musical Theater (Singing/Acting/Dancing)
~ Drink some tea with honey the day before to make sure your voice is in good condition
~ For the same reason do not whisper, yell or strain your voice the day before
~ Use Deodorant because you want to be able to dance your best
~ Stretch before Dance audition so your body is ready to move
~ Practice Lines before in different tones and styles in case they ask for different ways and so it will become second nature to adjust your style of voice
~ Do Warm-Ups in all 3
~ Dress a little bit like the character you want to be or like uniforms of the group (if it is a choir) so you sneak into the casters subliminal mind and it makes it easier for them to visualize you in that part
~ Do your very very best
~ Try method acting
~ Study the characters mannerisms and tone
~ Get to know the people you are competing/working with
~ Try to predict who will be who through process of elimination (ie: its highly unlikely a girl would play romeo or a boy play juliet)
~ Hang out with these people so the caster can see who you interact with well
~ Project!
~ Use your whole Body

Tips for Modeling
~Be Confident
~ Study up!
~ Develop your own style and look
~ Don't stick to the norm. be edgy and different (ie: most girls under 20 wear uggs, skinny jeans, and plain see through or off the shoulder tops)
~ PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE
~ Put your all into it

Tips for Rejection
~ It's okay to cry... but only when you are alone
~ Expect it and criticism, by being an artist, the most controversial job/hobby you are automatically putting yourself out there vulnerably for hate and rejection.
~ Don't worry, rejection doesn't mean your a bad artist/performer. It's normal it just means you were not fit for the directors vision.
~ You only make 1/45 auditions you try out for in the part you wanted*

*Trust me with this I've auditioned for over a dozen shows and plays and been in maybe 8 but only got the role I wanted in maybe 1 or 2.

Marbled Nails

It's all hers buuuuuttttttt heres a tutorial for them:

What you'll need:
At least 2 different nail polishes
A Small Bowl
Water
A Nail Polish Base
A Toothpick
Patience



Gather the nail polishes you want to use
Apply A Base Coat
Fill a Small Bowl with water
Put a few drops into the water (of nail polish ) close but not necessarily touching,
Swirl with toothpick into a design
Place nail in facing the design
Remove
Clean layer of water
Repeat of which ever nails you are doing
NOTE: Practice makes perfect!! It is not the easiest thing and you'll have to do it rather quickly before the nail polish dries in the water.

These Cosmetics that are $1 each or $3 for the Studio (Nars Dupe) are in popular talk. But does the quality match the price?

I'm going to go down the website www.elfcosmetics.com and review each product I have used

1) Brightening Eye Color (Silver Lining) It is a very good eyeshadow quad, pigmenting fairly (+) well but for long lasting vibrant color you'll need a good base(-). In all, (0)

2) Shimmering Facial Whip (Lilac Petal) Would Not reccomend. Smells like Lemon (+) but is messy (-) and shimmer fades and drys into your skin in a few minutes (-). In all, (-)

3) Liquid Eyeliner (Black) A Decent Eyeliner, Easy to use (+) Hard to Remove (-) In all, (-)

4) Regular & Waterproof Mascara Duo (Black) Works well (+) Natural Looking (o) A bit clumpy need to wiggle through (-) Easy to remove Regular side (+) In all, (0)

5) Mechanical Eyelash Curler: Works Well (+) Hard to get all eyelashes in (-) Rubber Easy to clean(+) Rubber falls apart and eyeshadow sticks to is (-), In all, (O)

Instant No-Sew Top!

Hey ppl! I haven't blogged in a while... and you haven't commented... at all!! Say WHAT!?!?!
Anyways.. If anyone does happen to read this and find the title slightly amusing read on!
This Makes A Wrap-Style Butterfly Sleeve Top
Materials:
~ A Scarf
~ A Tank Top
~ Skinny Jeans (Or your preffered type of pant.. as long as you wear pants I'm not stopping you)
~ Belt
How To:
Step 1: Put on a Tank Top
Step 2: Get A Scarf (Rectangle and fairly long and wide)
Step 3: Spread the Scarf out
Step 4: Wrap the Scarf around you like a Shawl.
Step 5: Bring the sides together and belt it
Step 6: Fix as you wish, your lower back should not have any scarf covering it, so unless your scarf is sheer wear the same color tank.
It should look something like this:

5. Glue to Magnets
6. Glue the Mannequin you paper to a giant Magnet

1. Take a Straight on Full body picture of you in a black or white tank top and short leggings
2. Print
3. Take Photos of your clothes
4. Scale
5. Print and cut out
6. Follow steps 5 and 6 in version A

C) There are apps for this.. look for em.. idk them but I'm sure there are some :) lol
